Unstoppable Motivation

Unstoppable Motivation

It has happened to all of us at some point of our life. We start out on a journey, full of passion and excitement. We make a good beginning and seem to be progressing towards our goals quite well but as we go along the way, we loose sight of the destination. We feel fatigue and begin to procrastinate. Every step becomes harder to take and longer to complete. We are unmotivated. Some people would call this a burnout; others may say a bad month. I call it a motivational slump and I’ve just hit it in full swing.   Hitting the Slump I...

Becoming Productive

Becoming Productive

It’s 6:00pm and you’ve just had another long day at work. You check through your emails one last time and notice that once again, you’ve left most of the important work unfinished. You’re a bit stressed about some deadlines, but your increasingly growing headache from a rough day at work convinces you to retire home early. Does this scenario sound familiar to you? Do you ever have those weeks where you just wonder where all the hours have gone? Do you sometimes get frustrated about not being able to focus on your most...

Sensual Living

“A few times in my life I have had moments of absolute clarity. When for a few brief seconds the silence drowned out the noise and I could feel rather than think. When things seemed so sharp and the world seemed so fresh as though it had all just come into existence. I could never make these moments last. I tried to clng to them, but like everything else, they faded away in due time. I’ve lived my life for these moments. They pull me back to the present and it’s then that I realize everything is exactly the way it was meant...

Finding Flow

I’ve been staring at my laptop screen for a few minutes now, trying to write the first sentence of this post. There is so much I want to write, but can’t seem to find the right words. What is it about writing that challenges me so much? And perhaps more interestingly, what does it mean when I say I want to become a better writer this year? I think it was my mom who first told me I can be a writer. That was 7 years ago when I still wrote in Hebrew. I just got to Australia and I was lonely, so for a few months I wrote a series of...

Discovering Life Purpose

What am I here to do? What is my life purpose? Do we even have a purpose? I have had these questions, and similar others, swirling around in my mind for some time now. A few years ago I tried to address them briefly but always felt that I hadn’t invested enough time or contemplative energy into these subjects.. Work seems to never end, fueling up with coffee in the morning and cooling down with a beer at night. Lots of to-do lists, texts messages and pop up reminders. Most of the time I’m living in a survival mode on too little...

Volunteering in the US

Volunteering in the US

Volunteering while traveling in Peru served as great way to get a deeper connection with the country and its people, so when I saw a similar opportunity of volunteering in the US, I grabbed it with both hands. The option institute which is also an international Autism treatment center is nestled in the middle of nature, and one of the reasons why I chose to spend full 2 months there and remove myself from the general tourist route. The Berkshires region, a 2.5 hours scenic drive from New York City, is breathtakingly picturesque and extremely...

Vipassana Experience

Vipassana Experience

Vipassana – an Indian Brain surgery All I knew about vipassana was this: 10 days meditation course in an isolated retreat. You are expected to avoid any contact with others (Including eye contact) and remain within a small area of the course site. You are not allowed to speak, read, hear music or write, and have to spend all day from 4:30 am till 9:00 pm in total silence, sitting with your eyes closed focusing on one object of attention. A complete withdrawal from the outside world, physically and mentally. Wonderful. In return,...

Landmark Experience

As most of you probably know, Australia has endured the worst bushfire in recorded history this month. More than 200 people died and whole towns were being razed in one deadly weekend. Two of them, Kinglake and Marysville, are only ~50KM from my house and places I know quite well as I spent some time in both. Just hard to imagine they do not exists anymore.. If there is any positive in this horrific disaster, it’s the positive show of solidarity and support that swept the country, Something which I’ve seen many times in Israel...

Tony Robbins Weekend

This year I celebrated my birthday by spending 4 days in Sydney which turned to be one great weekend. The real excuse was a half Marathon event but I have also registered myself to an Anthony Robbins Seminar who came to Sydney for his last Australian appearance. I usually don’t like those kinds of events but decided to go anyway to get out of my comfort zone and to see what the fuss was all about.   It was a beautiful sun-filled morning when I arriveed so I sat close to the exit in case I feel escaping for a lazy sunbaking day...
