End of 2008
So 2008 has officially ended with celebrations of Christmas and NYE with friends in Melbourne. It is actually the first time I celebrate my holidays in Melbourne, even though I live here for the last 5-6 years. As most of my close friends went overseas for NYE, 15 of us managed to have one last gathering in the Grampians, 3 hours out of the city, to spend a quality weekend in nature. It rained non-stop but it didn’t stop us to have absolutely brilliant time! There is really no better source than nature to recharge your batteries. In some...

Last weekend I’ve participated in my 2nd Half Ironman race in Shepparton, Victoria and actually did very well… 5 hours and 21 minutes, 67th place in my age group, smashing my personal best by 45 minutes and passing few strong team mates on the run. Deep down I knew I can be good in this : ) Was a long 12 months journey since I started to get there though! In between weekends of training & racing, I managed to take a week off to celebrate Melbourne cup properly. We started with the traditional breakfast at my courtyard, followed by a beautiful sunny day at the racing...

Summer of 2008 was definitely an exciting one with 2 journeys coming to end: Becoming an Australian Citizen after 5 years in Melbourne and finishing a gruelling triathlon Ironman event in New Zealand. If the main focus in 2006 was drawn toward getting my masters degree and 2007 was all about socializing, being out almost every night, 2008 became a sporty year, training everyday, sometimes twice a day. My second main focus in 2008 was redirected onto business and more particularly on developing very strong internet skills. There is always a trade off though – I really cooled down my...

This year I celebrated my birthday by spending 4 days in Sydney which turned to be one great weekend. The real excuse was a half Marathon event but I have also registered myself to an Anthony Robbins Seminar who came to Sydney for his last Australian appearance. I usually don’t like those kinds of events but decided to go anyway to get out of my comfort zone and to see what the fuss was all about. It was a beautiful sun-filled morning when I arriveed so I sat close to the exit in case I feel escaping for a lazy sunbaking day outside. An old lady was sitting near me, jumping in her...
Read MoreMy Ironman NZ Journey
It all started10 years agowhen I mistakenly watched an Ironman event after few shots of tequila while backpacking the east coast of Australia.3.8 KM Swim, 180KM cycle and a 42KM marathon run. Indeed an Ironman. Without thinking of the consequences I told my travelling friends that one day I will finish one. Funny enough, the day after, I totally forgot about the whole thing but I guess my mind had a mind of its own. 10 years later and here I was in New Zealand on the start line with 1200 other competitors. I should take my tequila moments more seriously. Training officially started 5...
